Executive Director

R. Venkataramani is a strategic financial leader with over 25 years of experience in global energy, infrastructure, and commodity markets. He currently serves as Executive Director at Synergy Capital in Dubai, overseeing investments in power, and new-age commodities.


His expertise includes financial oversight, capital structure optimization, board-level governance, and robust stakeholder management. Venkataramani has been a core team member in - developing and implementing a $2 billion business plan in the energy and infrastructure sector, growing a $50 million startup into a $1.5 billion asset-owning enterprise, and secured over $1.5 billion in combined debt and equity financing. He has established strong banking and fundraising networks, including relationships with sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions, and family offices.


Ramani’s career includes leadership roles such as CFO for the Resources Platform at MMSGI Group in Indonesia, CFO at GMR Infrastructure Singapore Pte Ltd. in Dubai, and Group Vice President—Finance & Accounts at Emirates Environmental Protection. Earlier, he progressed from Manager to Group CFO and Board Member at Coal & Oil Group, where he led financial strategy and governance across trading, shipping, mining, and power businesses.


He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost & Management Accountant, holding a Bachelor of Commerce from Loyola College (Autonomous), Chennai, and having completed the Accelerated Management Program and Leadership Program at ISB, Hyderabad. His professional journey is marked by strong corporate governance, organizational development, and a global network across the Far East and Southeast Asia.

 

Ramani is passionate about coaching and mentoring, particularly guiding youth and emerging entrepreneurs on their journeys. In his personal time, he is actively involved in managing charitable trusts that focus on the restoration and preservation of temples, as well as supporting education for underprivileged communities. He values spiritual practice, running, travel, and reading.
