Synergy Contributes to Strategic Think Tank Event: 500MT Steel Production in India by 2047

Synergy was happy to participate and contribute its core sector expertise, entrepreneurial bent and specific local knowledge to an important think tank industry event in India. Our Senior partner Davinder Chugh made a presentation https://bit.ly/3G0WSiI followed by moderating a panel discussion on the 'Road map for 500 Million Tonnes by 2047' at METEC India 2022 in Mumbai recently. The panel consisted of industry stalwarts and interest groups from India and abroad.

Davinder spoke about the demand and supply side enablers that India would need to take its crude steel production from 154 MT in FY22 to 500 MT in 2047 – the landmark centenary year of Indian independence. It has to start with demand growth through the success of all the initiatives of the Govt. – Bharat mala (Road infrastructure), Sagarmala (Ports), Urja Ganga (Gas Pipeline), National Rail Plan, Real Estate sector and much more. And on the supply side, enablers like capital, skills and competencies, innovation and R&D, logistics infrastructure and finally, availability of the right kind of energy must fall in place.
