Sigma Lithium Corp. (Nasdaq:SGML) listed its shares on NASDAQ on Monday, September 13. Many posts have been written this week on LinkedIn about this great company. Here is a summary for those who have not been following Sigma:
• A year from now, Sigma will start producing “green” lithium out of the largest hard-rock deposit in the Americas and one of the top-3 globally in terms of grade.
• It is a world-class asset benefiting from low-cost production, low-capex, and a scale that can make Sigma a top-5 player globally.
• On the ESG side, it will be a carbon-neutral mine that will not employ chemicals and recycle the water used.
• From an investor’s perspective, Sigma created 20x shareholder value in the last four years.
The company hopes that many more people will know Sigma as a result of this listing, and the lives of countless others will be improved as the initial production and subsequent expansions accelerate the World’s energy transition away from fossil fuels.
This post wants to recognize the people behind Sigma, whom you can see with big smiles on their faces. We are inspired by the Co-CEOs’ (Ana Cabral and Calvyn Gardner) decision to share this special moment with all of them at the mine site: the employees, members of the communities, government officials and the other stakeholders who have made Sigma’s success possible. There was no better and more inclusive way to celebrate this milestone. It is a symbol of a company living up to its values.
We are thankful to the company for inviting us to participate in NASDAQ’s Closing Bell event and are proud to appear clapping among this talented, supportive, diverse group of people. We stand ready to continue supporting Sigma in becoming the next major lithium player in the world.
