Synergy Capital Appoints Venkataramani Ranganathan as Executive Director

Synergy Capital, a rapidly growing alternative investment fund in the industrials and infrastructure sectors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Venkataramani Ranganathan as Executive Director. Based in Dubai, Venkataramani will spearhead the firm’s strategic investments in power, new-age commodities, and value-added assets.

Venkataramani brings more than 25 years of experience in infrastructure finance, and commodity markets. He is recognised for his expertise in fundraising for large-scale trading businesses and infrastructure projects, as well as for his leadership in new business initiatives, divestments, and the optimisation of post-acquisition processes. His career highlights include overseeing business verticals to maximise value for stakeholders and driving robust corporate governance and organisational development.

Having lived and worked in the UAE, India, and Indonesia, Venkataramani has played a pivotal role in structuring critical financing and commercial contracts across the Far East and Southeast Asia. His appointment underscores Synergy Capital’s commitment to institutionalising best-in-class investment and operational practices.

Before joining Synergy Capital in May 2025, Venkataramani served as Chief Financial Officer for the Resources Platform of MMS Group in Indonesia, where he led finance and strategy for the group’s expansion into commodity trading. He previously held the position of CFO at GMR Group’s International Trading Unit, overseeing corporate finance functions and business growth. Venkataramani began his career with C&O Group in 1996, rising to head the group’s finance function and contributing to the development of a $2 billion business plan in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost & Management Accountant.
